During a meeting with representatives of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) of Denmark on June 10th, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc stated that Vietnam is reviewing and updating the Power Development Plan VIII in the context of projected higher energy demand than previous scenarios. Vietnam aims to develop 6–17 GW of offshore wind power by 2030 and prioritizes attracting investors with strong financial capacity, technology, and the ability to implement projects quickly. The government also encourages investment in onshore wind power, solar power, and energy storage systems to diversify electricity sources and meet growing energy demand.
TRADING STRATEGY
The stock market closed slightly higher at 1,803 points with improved liquidity compared to the previous trading session. Selling pressure continued to weaken. Money flowed freely, led by large-cap stocks in the real estate and banking sectors. Foreign investors maintained a net selling position across the board. Overall sentiment remained cautious, given that while domestic macroeconomic conditions are relatively stable, they haven't yet had a direct positive impact, and the global market has been experiencing relatively complex developments in recent sessions. The VN-Index is unlikely to return to an upward trend in the short term. Instead, the index may continue to trade sideways, with cooling down and differentiation, with key support around the 1,740-1,760 point range. However, investors should pay more attention to individual stocks that already have attractive market prices relative to their fundamental outlook or are expected to benefit from the upcoming Q2/2026 ETF restructuring.
The VN-Index is likely to fluctuate around 1,790-1,810 points today. Short-term traders should closely monitor price movements and independently manage each individual stock in their portfolio to optimize their position. On the other hand, controlled buying activity aimed at medium- to long-term holding based on company valuations may continue at key support levels.
