HIGHLIGHTED NEWS
The Politburo has just issued Resolution No. 10-NQ/TW, outlining the direction to improve the quality of FDI flows, prioritizing high technology, innovation, and linkages with domestic enterprises. Accordingly, Vietnam aims to attract $200-300 billion in registered FDI and $150-200 billion in implemented FDI during the 2026-2030 period, with 75% of the capital coming from developed economies. Notably, Vietnam aims to attract at least three leading global technology corporations to establish headquarters or R&D centers, increase the number of Fortune 500 corporations investing in Vietnam by 30%, raise the localization rate of key industries to 45-50%, and bring approximately 10,000 domestic enterprises into the supply chains of foreign-invested enterprises. The resolution also prioritizes attracting investment in strategic sectors such as semiconductors, AI, big data, and biotechnology, while promoting the development of capital markets, international financial centers, and a roadmap for upgrading the stock market to emerging market status.
TRADING STRATEGY
The stock market closed in the red, retreating to 1,791 points at the end of the week's trading session, with improved liquidity exceeding the weekly average. The market showed clear divergence, with capital largely concentrated in large-cap banking stocks in particular and VN30 stocks in general. Conversely, selling pressure increased slightly towards the end of the session in real estate, industrial services, construction, and materials stocks. Foreign investors maintained a net selling position with a scale similar to previous trading sessions. Overall, the market is still trading sideways around the 1,800-point mark. The general cautious sentiment kept average liquidity at a low level. The VN-Index is currently undergoing a short-term downward correction within a medium- to long-term uptrend, and the index's fluctuating range under the multifaceted influences from the global market is entirely unavoidable. Therefore, investors should pay more attention to individual stocks with medium- to long-term prospects or those expected to benefit from the upcoming Q2/2026 ETF fund restructuring.
The VN-Index is likely to fluctuate around 1,780-1,800 points today. Short-term traders should closely monitor price movements and independently manage each individual stock in their portfolio to optimize their position and minimize passivity in risk management.
