HIGHLIGHTED NEWS
The Ministry of Finance and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in infrastructure, energy, urban development, and public sector management. The ADB stated it is preparing a portfolio of 27 projects for Vietnam by 2029 with a total capital of approximately US$4.6 billion. Both sides also agreed to prioritize large-scale projects with spillover effects, while promoting direct lending to the private sector to support the growth drivers of the economy.
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and Chinese Premier Li Qiang agreed to continue implementing high-level agreements between the two countries, prioritizing strengthening infrastructure connectivity, especially railway cooperation, expanding bilateral trade, and promptly implementing smart border gate models and building cross-border economic cooperation zones. Both sides also agreed to expand cooperation in the fields of science and technology, innovation, energy, electricity connectivity, and maintaining peace and stability at sea.
TRADING STRATEGY
The stock market continued its sideways movement, closing slightly higher near the 1,800-point mark with improved liquidity. Improved sentiment, fueled by positive news from Middle Eastern geopolitical negotiations, led to a slight spread of capital across various sectors, rather than the previous concentration on large-cap financial stocks. Selling pressure decreased and was mainly seen in individual stocks in the real estate, oil and gas, and chemical sectors. Foreign investors showed a positive shift, selling net in value but buying net in volume. Overall, despite improvements in capital flow and liquidity, the VN-Index remains in a sideways trend, fluctuating around the psychological 1,800-point level. The market still lacks several factors that would confirm a potential reversal in terms of points. However, the differentiation in the Q2 2026 ETF restructuring may help investors identify stocks that are ahead of the general trend in the medium term.
The VN-Index is likely to fluctuate around 1,790-1,810 points today. Short-term traders should closely monitor price movements and independently manage each individual stock in their portfolio to optimize their position and minimize passivity in risk management.
