HIGHLIGHTED NEWS
The Ministry of Finance has just submitted to the Government a draft decree extending the deadline for paying VAT, corporate income tax, personal income tax, and land rent in 2026 to support businesses and people. According to the draft, the policy applies to businesses, business households, and individuals in 43 economic sectors, as well as small and micro enterprises. The total amount of taxes and land rent extended is estimated at approximately VND 125,000 billion, higher than the VND 114,789 billion of 2025, thereby contributing to improving liquidity and supporting production and business activities. The policy is expected to be applied until December 31, 2026.
The United Kingdom has just announced two new climate cooperation initiatives with Vietnam, focusing on offshore wind power development and green finance. These initiatives aim to provide technical support, refine the policy framework, and mobilize international capital for Vietnam's energy transition. Simultaneously, the program also supports the development of a green financial ecosystem, attracting green investment flows and promoting the goal of building a Vietnam International Financial Center. This move follows commitments under the JETP framework aimed at mobilizing $15.5 billion for Vietnam's energy transition.
TRADING STRATEGY
The stock market rose for the second consecutive session, closing at 1,807 points with liquidity remaining above the previous week's average. Market differentiation was quite evident. Capital tended to flow into mid- and small-cap stocks in the financial services, industrial services, construction, and materials sectors. Meanwhile, selling pressure mainly shifted to large-cap stocks in general and key stocks in the VN30 index in particular. Foreign investors showed signs of reducing net selling, with selective net buying returning during the week of ETF restructuring. Overall sentiment improved somewhat as capital continued to spread slightly across highly publicized stocks. However, the VN-Index currently lacks several crucial criteria for confirming a trend reversal from short-term downward correction to medium- to long-term growth. Therefore, the index may continue to trade sideways within a narrow range around 1,800 points in the coming period.
The VN-Index is likely to fluctuate around the 1,795-1,815 point range today. Short-term traders should closely monitor price movements and independently manage each individual stock in their portfolio to optimize their position and minimize passivity in risk management.
