HIGHLIGHTED NEWS
Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc requested the urgent completion of the revised investment policy dossier for the Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Project to be submitted to the National Assembly soon, while also accelerating investment preparation. The Ministry of Finance also proposed splitting the project into three independent projects: Ninh Thuan 1, Ninh Thuan 2, and the compensation, support, and resettlement component, to facilitate the appraisal, investment preparation, and project implementation process.
The Customs Department requested that units assign officers to handle customs clearance procedures and supervise goods outside of regular hours, including holidays, to expedite agricultural exports. In addition, units were instructed to strengthen communication with Chinese Customs to resolve issues, prioritize the re-importation of goods that had already been exported but did not meet the requirements for import into China, and strictly prohibit actions that cause delays in customs clearance and incur additional costs for businesses.
TRADING STRATEGY
The stock market experienced a spectacular reversal, closing above the 1,800-point mark after successfully defending the 1,760-1,780 point support zone, thanks to positive performance from banking, financial services, and real estate stocks. Liquidity improved above the 20-day average. Foreign investors traded relatively evenly. Overall, sentiment was somewhat relieved as capital tended to concentrate on highly liquid stocks. In general, the current recovery of the VN-Index is not entirely unexpected, as the vast majority of stocks have been and are currently in oversold territory in the short term. The index could potentially continue its recovery towards the 1,820-1,840 point area. However, it is still too early to confirm that a sustainable medium-term uptrend has returned.
Today, the VN-Index is likely to fluctuate around the 1,790-1,815 point range. Investors should closely monitor price movements and manage risk on an individual basis for each stock in their short-term portfolio. On the other hand, for medium- and long-term portfolios, priority should be given to holding or partially investing in fundamentally sound stocks with attractive valuations and positive prospects for business growth in the second half of 2026.
