HIGHLIGHTED NEWS
Vietnam has requested JPMorgan Chase to assist the Government, banks, and enterprises in accessing international capital sources—including through international bond issuances, export credit, and other fundraising channels. JPMorgan was also asked to share expertise on debt management, foreign exchange reserves, and capital market development, helping Vietnam work toward an investment-grade credit rating while strengthening ties with the global financial community. Visa also expressed a desire to expand cooperation regarding payments and digital transformation in Vietnam.
Governor Le Minh Hung stated that the Government plans to comprehensively amend the Land Law and related legislation to better regulate and manage land prices, thereby curbing surges that drive up economic input costs; at the same time, priority will be given to social housing and rental housing to ensure affordable accommodation. The Government also aims to simplify tax regulations—particularly regarding corporate income tax—while pursuing double-digit growth, achieving 100% disbursement of planned public investment, boosting private and foreign direct investment (FDI), and resolving issues stalling existing projects.
TRADING STRATEGY
The stock market underwent a downward correction, retreating to the 1,775.09-point mark amidst liquidity levels that fell below the 20-session average. Selling pressure emerged early among VN30 large-cap stocks, subsequently spreading across various sectors and intensifying toward the end of the session. Conversely, select stocks in the F&B, Chemicals, Basic Materials, and Telecommunications sectors remained in positive territory, helping to support the overall index. Foreign investors stepped up their net selling. Cautious sentiment and weak cash flow prevented the VN-Index from maintaining its consolidation phase within the 1,780–1,800 point support zone. However, the index's decline was largely driven by key VN30 stocks. It is unlikely that the market will establish a new positive uptrend in the immediate term; instead, it may correct toward the next support zone of 1,740–1,760 points to allow supply and demand to stabilize before showing signs of a rebound.
Today, the VN-Index is likely to fluctuate within the 1,760–1,780 point range. Short-term investors might consider restructuring their portfolios to be more focused, prioritizing profit optimization as short-term cash flow shows signs of weakening. Meanwhile, medium- and long-term investors could continue holding stocks with promising business growth prospects for the second half of 2026.
